We recommend that pots and pans straight from an oven or burner not be placed on your wood surface. The heat can burn through the wood, and glue joints. If it has a varnish finish, heat can cause moisture rings, and bubbles.

-Edge grain is our most popular choice of countertop style. The narrower boards create a strong joint and provide a classic look, perfect for any home design.Face grain exposes beautiful wood grain patterns that creates a rustic look. The wider boards make a stunning statement. Face grain typically requires thicker boards for stability.End grain is the choice for any professional chef, end grain countertops are bold and beautiful. This style is very labor intensive and requires thicker boards. End grain can cost quite a bit more because of this.
Standard Overhang is 1" to 1.5". We recommend corbels for any overhang greater than 3 1/2" on edge grain butcher block countertops and 2 1/2" on end grain butcher block countertops.
